"Singing was beautiful, guitar playing was beautiful, the rhythm just seduced me, made me want to come back for more, that’s what makes a great song"

Bio
Kira Janowsky is an Australian based Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter born in Melbourne. She won the 2018 Maldon Minstrel Award. She has released 2 EP’s “Suburban Wife” and “By The Beach”, the “Lighthouse”album, and the “ Herowines and Feasts”album.
Her music undulates between folk, ethereal indie, jazz, country, and klezmer. Her songs are quirky, eclectic, and sometimes haunting. Her Father was a prominent Melbourne
based Folk Singer and she grew up around folk music. She is inspired by Nina Simone, Cat Stevens and Joni Mitchell.
Kira is a Wine Sommelier and worked as a Head Sommelier and Cellar Door Manager at a local Melbourne Winery where she also assisted with vintage. She has studied various wine courses and has been going to Wine and Food Festivals for over twenty years tasting wines from all over Australia. Kira runs Wine Appreciation courses and specialises in the more unusual Italian grape varietals grown here in Australia. She was also a Cook for an Executive Board cooking up a storm of
gorgeous dishes!!
Now Kira, an Epicurean at heart has paired her three loves Music, Wine and Food in a theatrical show called “Herowines and Feasts”.
Her all-original show is a thought provoking, genuinely funny performance. It explores the intersections between identity, feminism, suburban life and family ties in theatrical style. It takes you on a journey to places near and far.
The show explores anything from Degustation Menus and an on-line date to a tragic zucchini. Songs about strong women include daring movie stars, witches, gypsies, and an unconventional suburban housewife. Settle in for high adventure, high drama, and hilarity. But don’t think it’s all fun and games there is a deep and more serious side to Kira’s storytelling.
At certain venues Kira can also offer a Wine Tasting before the show that is partially sung, some of It’s sung in Italian like the grape varietals she represents.
It doesn’t get better than this unless you want to supply the Cheese Platters. What a day out or in!! Tasting great wine, eating lovely cheese and listening to some great music!!!
